Allison Creek Cross-Country Ski Trails

Explore more than 30 kilometres of groomed cross-country ski trails through dense forests along the eastern edge of the Continental Divide. This network of easy loops and challenging tracks is located in Chinook Provincial Recreation Area and Allison-Chinook Forestry Land Use Zone, over 300 hectares of spectacular rolling forest and lake shore set in the Crowsnest Mountains.

Trail reports are available from December 1 - March 31. Maps are available at the trail head and memberships to support the not for profit group maintaining the trails can be purchased from the Crowsnest Pass Cross Country Ski Association.

Dogs are not permitted on these trails.

Trail System

Forest clearings provide close-up views of Crowsnest Mountain. You can, with determination and companions for safety, ski over the Continental Divide at Deadman's Pass.

The Crowsnest Pass Cross Country Ski Association hosts an annual Flight of the Crows Loppet X-Country Ski Race in Allison - Chinook Cross Country Ski Area the first week of February.

Best Access and Parking Area

Take hwy 3 to Allison Creek Road, from Coleman (east) the road is 2.8 km west of where the speed limit rises to 100 km/hr again, from BC (west), the access road is 6.3 km east of the roadside turnout on Crowsnest Lake.  Turn north on Allison Creek Road and proceed 2.7 km until you cross a cattle guard.  Take the left fork immediately after the cattle guard and continue 1.3 km to the parking area.
