Centre Peak High Country Adventures

Centre Peak High Country Adventures is located along the pristine eastern slopes of the Livingstone Range in south western Alberta, between the Crowsnest Pass and Pincher Creek. Your hosts, Richard Keil and Kate McKim-Keil, are third generation ranchers on the DU Ranch which was established in 1954. Guided trail rides and western riding lessons are offered in one of south western Alberta’s most spectacular areas. Lodging is available at the “Ranch Hand Getaway".

The DU Ranch currently consists of approximately 2500 acres of ranchland and it also borders the Livingstone Range provincial forestry. This area has many ranching homesteads and there are many stories that go with these homesteads and of the coal mining history in the Crowsnest Pass. The men of many of the families that settled here would hike over the mountain range and work in the coal mines during the winter months and leave their families to fend for themselves during the long winter months. The DU Ranchlands Log Cabin, was designated as a 2008 Municipal District of Pincher Creek Historic Resource and View Site due to this rich history and heritage.
