Family Forestry Expo

Family Forestry Expo, a tradition in the Flathead Valley for the over 25 years, will be Saturday May 6, 2017 from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.  Enjoy a 'free loggers lunch' from 11am to 1pm, grandstand shows at 10:30am and 1:30pm will include logging equipment demonstrations and Forest Service mule packing demonstrations; plus there are exhibits and educational stations along a forest path

Approximately 1200 fifth graders visit Expo during the week to learn about natural resource topics, in conjunction with their classroom studies. The students learn about wildlife, archaeology, fire, backcountry ethics, plant identification, fisheries, forest management and more. On Saturday it will be a family event. A group of dedicated individuals, organizations, agencies and businesses work together to host this enjoyable and educational event every year. It provides unbiased information about forests and the multiple opportunities they provide in our everyday lives.
