Lincoln Open Rodeo

For more than 60 years the Lincoln Open Rodeo had been the keystone summer event for this small mountain town.

The Annual Lincoln Open Rodeo falls on the weekend clostest to the Independacne Holiday every year and the town kicks off the festivities with a parade through town.

As one of the few open rodeos left in the state it provides an opportunity for young cowboys to build their credentials and for more experienced riders to pick up a few extra rides during teh "cowboy Christmas" season that centers around the Fourth of July.

For kids the Rodeo offers a greased pig chase, a boot race and a chicken chase. Stout hearted adults can test their resolve and their agility by entering the Ring of Fire to see who can last longest in teh ring against a loose bull.

In 2013 the Lincoln Rodeo Club partnered with the Montana Chapter of the National Barrel Horse Association to bring a barrel racing event to the Lincoln Rodeo grounds the night before the Lincon Rode, adding an extra event for Rodeo lovers
