A Short Introduction to the Site

See hatchling bones from a fossil nest and join in active dinosaur digs along Montana’s Rocky Mountain Front.

Montana’s Two Medicine Dinosaur Center includes a skeletal model display of a Seismosaurus, one of the world's largest dinosaurs (137 feet long, 27 feet high at the hips) - and listed by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most accurate model. Other displays include the first baby dinosaur remains found in North America and the actual remains of other new dinosaur species.

In addition to the museum - public, hands-on dinosaur dig programs are offered throughout the summer. These programs run from a half-day site tour all the way to a two-week long Paleo Training Course. Advanced registration required. Programs available through the Two Medicine Dinosaur Center of Montana are designed to allow participants to work beside actual research professionals and staff. Such interaction allows participants to learn current principles and techniques of fossil preservation, leading to better reporting and documentation of fossil discoveries.

Full Description of the Historical Site or Museum

The Two Medicine Dinosaur Center is a non-profit research and educational institution.  Traditionally, amateur discoveries have made up over 90% of the total significant fossils documented. The Center encourages the public to continue this important tradition and at the same time lessen the adverse impact of untrained amateurs in the field.
