Waterton Natural History Association Heritage Centre and Bookstore

The Waterton Heritage Centre offers FREE tourist information, FREE geocaching passports and GPS units for geocaching within Waterton Lakes National Park and FREE Xplorer activity books for kids.  We also have a wide range of retail services including books, DVDs and folding guides to Waterton wildlife, wild flowers, birds, hiking trails and history.  The Waterton Natural History Association also produces our own unique commemorative merchandise such as T-shirts, badges, pins and other small goods.  Our association's membership has unique handmade items for sale including photography, paintings, pottery, jewelry and fabric goods.  We have a great selection of First Nations books and handmade items from our neighbours in the Piikani and Kainai Nations.  As a Parks Canada partner we also have Parks Canada merchandise and information on how you can volunteer in Waterton Lakes National Park.

Description of Store or Stores

We are a registered Charity whose mission is:  "To promote the understanding, preservation and appropriate use of Waterton Lakes National Park through education, publication, retail and museum services and volunteerism."

Friendly staff are there to help enrich your Waterton experience by assisting you with reference material, learning geocaching, information about Park features and history, information about our neighbouring First Nations culture, language and history and information and registration for events in the Waterton Wildflower and Wildlife festivals in June and September.  Public washrooms available outside at the rear of the building, seating and picnic tables outside in front of the building and we host displays and activities both inside and outside the shop on the green space.  We have bulletin board with current events and wildlife sighting reports to help you fully enjoy your visit to Waterton Lakes National Park.

TBA - usually 10-6 daily plus longer hours in peak summer.

Open from the May long weekend until the end of the Wildlife weekend in late September
