The Hockaday celebrates the rich history of women painting in Glacier National Park by inviting 28 of America's top western artists to feature the Crown of the Continent in recently-created works.
About the Exhibit and Sale
Following the overwhelming response to the 2015 exhibition A Timeless Legacy - Women Artists of Glacier National Park, the Hockaday invited nationally recognized women artists to participate in the second annual A Timeless Legacy exhibit and sale. These women artists are renowned for their work in featuring western subjects and have been assembled to create an unprecedented show of works connected to the majesty of Glacier National Park. Both paintings and sculpture are featured, and the range of subjects reflects the vastness and the majesty of Glacier National Park - from marvelous landscapes and Park wildlife, to the people who over the years have called the Park home or for whom the Park has special significance or importance relating to their well-being and livelihood, as well as other historic and contemporary subjects.
This year's extraordinary group of talent hails from nine states: seven from Arizona, six from Montana, five from Colorado, two from Wyoming, two from Texas, and one each from Washington, Florida, and Idaho.
