This gracious house is a century old mansion one block from downtown Cranbrook and is included in the self-guided heritage tour. Many early homes were built in the 'Baker Hill' area between 1898 and the First World War in 1914. The Baker Hill area is now a designated Residential Heritage Area and this property received a Residential Heritage Award in 1998. This multi-sided building now operates as a Bed & Breakfast establishment. A large addition has been constructed; the original smaller building exists to the right side.

It is part of the self-guided Cranbrook Heritage Tour which consists of 45 heritage properties. Maps are available from the Cranbrook Visitor Centre and the Canadian Museum of Rail Travel, and the tour can be enjoyed on foot or by car.
