This Alberta classic workingman's cafe is a holdover from Coleman's heyday as a coal mining town. So is its menu, and many of its customers.
Chris' Restaurant | Crowsnest Pass, Alberta
Location
Full Description of Establishment
Blue collar customers remain a mainstay of lunch hour business, but much of the loyal clientele consists of retired miners and their families. Mixed among them might be members of the nearby foothills First Nations communities and, on sunny weekends, the swivel stools may be occupied by oversized Harley riders at home with the squeak of posterior leather against Naugahyde.
The cuisine is small-town comfort food such as burgers, fish and chips, caesar salads, and milk shakes. The best feature is the french fries, freshly cut into long strips from unusually large prairie potatoes.
