Family Forestry Expo, has been a tradition in the Flathead Valley for 30 years and will be Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. Enjoy a 'free loggers lunch' from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., grandstand shows at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. including logging equipment demonstrations and Forest Service mule packing demonstrations; plus exhibits and educational stations along a forested path.
Approximately 1200 fifth graders visit Expo during the week to learn about natural resource topics, in conjunction with their classroom studies. Students learn about wildlife, archaeology, fire, backcountry ethics, plant identification, fisheries, forest management and more. Saturday is a family event welcoming all for a day of fun. A group of dedicated individuals, organizations, agencies and businesses work together to host this enjoyable and educational event every year providing unbiased information about forests and the multiple opportunities they provide in our everyday lives.
