Montana Dragon Boat Festival 2017

Paddles are up at The Montana Dragon Boat Festival

More than 70 teams and 1,800 participants from the U.S. and Canada will race in 46-foot dragon boats on Flathead Lake, the largest natural, fresh-water lake in the west. Each of the Hong Kong-style boats - with a dragon head at the bow and a dragon tail at the stern - holds a team of 20 paddlers, a drummer and a steerer.

The festival will also include a Made-in-Montana food and artisan showcase in Volunteer Park at Lakeside.
