North Star Rails to Trails- Part of the Trans Canada Trail Network | Kimberley & Cranbrook, British Columbia, Canada

A 28 km stretch of former railway bed between Cranbrook and Kimberley has been converted to a paved trail that is ideal for running, walking, biking, and blading. This year round, multi-use (non-motorized only)  paved trail offers gentle grades in both directions allowing for families to enjoy the fantastic scenery together- the Steeples range as you ride south, the St. Mary's River, and the Purcell range as you travel north. 

Best Places to Go

The entire length is worthy of  a ride, walk, run. Pack a picnic lunch and your camera. The trailhead in Kimberley is located across the street from the Aquatic Centre.

Best Times to Go

Spring, summer, and fall this trail offers of 28 km of smooth pavement and beautiful vistas. Winter, bring your cross country skis.

What You Should Know Before You Go

A few parking lots and outhouses are located near the trail between Marysville and Cranbrook. For geocachers, dozens of hidden caches await your discovery. Visit North Star Rails to Trails Official Website for information regarding one way shuttle.

Rode from Kimberley to Wycliffe Road on a longboard. Silky smooth trail that's well maintained and all downhill.
